Lytro warm-up and Fashion photography

Lytro warm-up

1.When you click like and objected it focuses it on that an it blurs the background2. This camera works good like if you click it in one place it focus it all in that place that you clicked and blurs the whole background and its really clear it takes good pictures and it really focuses on the picture.
3. He needs to know everything the settings it has the kind of way and angel he's gonna take the photo to make it perfect.
4. Yes its worth money it takes good pictures.

Fashion Photography
1. Her neck was thiner they made her eyes look bigger they lift up her eyebrows they fixed her checks.
2.No its not because everybody is pretty like that girl she was pretty and they fixed her up and did all that it isn't right because then other girls are gonna try to look like her and its not even how she looks in person .
3.No there shouldn't be no circumstances with any of that its wrong what there doing there trying to put like a fake person on the picture and people are going to try to be like her and just do stupid things just to look like that.
4.When the lifted her eyebrows that was okay but when the made her neck thiner that wasn't okay and lips
5. The fashion try to make and take pictures of something they really aren't and what people like to see and photojournalist is of real things the beauty of something not make it into beauty.
6. They are both of beauty but one of them is fake and people actually want to be like that and the other one is really beauty it affects it because people want to be like them.

rules of photography part 2

1. Rule of thirds

2. Balancing Elements

3. Leading Lines

4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)

5. Viewpoint

6. Background

7. Create depth

8. Framing

9. Cropping
10. Mergers and avoiding them

Self portraits 1 and 2

Self Portrait and Portraits Part 2

1. Get closer
2. Have fun with it
3. Engaging your subject

Environmental portrait
I liked this photo because you could see the setting of the sky it looks really pretty and thats why i picked it because of the sky and it unique than just a regular orange and yellow sunset.

I picked this photo cause the kid looks like he's having a lot of fun on the park and its a pretty picture of environment cause he is surrounded by trees.

Photography self portrait
I liked this picture cause like the photo that she's putting on her face is like how she feels and its just creative and i liked it.
I liked this photo cause its black and white and she's pretty and its a good photo for a self portrait.

Casual Portrait
I liked this photo cause its natural he looks calm and its casual.

I liked this photo cause the kid is just sitting down and to me it feels casual and it is he looks like he's relaxed and casual.

I am going to be shooting my sister Iris we will be shooting outside somewhere were there sun and a good setting so i was thinking like somewhere in the courtyard close to a tree cause i want to capture the nature and like with a good lighting i would take a lot of picture i would move her places that i think the photo would look pretty and capture the sun and the trees and focus on what I'm doing to make my shot successful.

American soldier

The most powerful image was the one that he's with his dad because he says that its just been me and him and that its scares him to think that his dad is going to be lonely to me thats the most powerful image.

Set #1 at home in denver- #1- 8
Set #2 at basic training- #16-30
Set #3 in iraq- #50-70
Set#4 back in Denver- #71-83

To me the most powerful set of images was set # 4 because thats when he came back from iraq and just seeing the pictures there were deep because you see his family crying and happy that he's back and he gets married its just powerful.
It worked cause its like everything he did and those pictures make a story well in each picture it tells a little bit about the story and it works

The captions enhance the photographs by telling us what was happening and like his feelings and just telling basically what happened in that photo.

Sim cam

Sim Cam
f 4- 1/125 sec, the background is blurred out but the people aren't and there not that bright but there not to dark its perfect.
f 5.6- 1/60 sec, you can almost see the background and it gives it brightness it looks pretty.
f 8- 1/60 sec, This one makes the look more brighter but its not like really bright and there not blurry.
f 11- 1/60 sec, now you can see the background but the people are kinda dark but its okay its not an ugly dark.
f 16- 1/30 sec, On this one you see everything kinda clearly the background and the people.
f 22- 1/8 sec, this one you see everything the people and background and it has light.

when the shutter gets lower the people get really blurry so the photographer can fix the problem by maybe like changing there positions or put the in another place. The longest shutter speed would be typically 30 seconds.

Camera sim
i did pretty good i did understood aperture, shutter speed, and ISO better now, now i now like the difference between them and what they do.

ISO

ISO
 200
3200

1.The higher ISO it has noise it adds grain to the picture and gets a better shot.
2. That when there is plenty of light you should always use the lowest ISO to retain the most detail and to have the highest image quality and there are some cases where you might want to use low ISO in dim or dark environments.
3. He suggested that you should increase the ISO when there is not enough light for the am era to be able yo quickly capture an image.

Shutter Speed

Once you are finished reading about Shutter Speed, I want you to use google and find me an example of a photo taken with a high shutter speed and one taken at a slow shutter speed (you do not have to show blur unless you want but I still need to see an example of a photo that COULD have been taken at a slow shutter speed). Post them both on your blog and label them.
Then answer the following questions:

 High

 Slow

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which was earlier this month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:

At the beginning while the sun is still partially up and the courtyard has reasonable light
a.) the dunking booth; high shutter
b.) the food eating contest; slow shutter
c.) the rock climbing wall; Slow shutter
d.) someone working at a booth; slow shutter
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle; Slow shutter
f.) the Diamonds performance;High shutter

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.

a.) the dunking booth;High shutter
b.) the food eating contest;Slow shutter
c.) the rock climbing wall; High shutter
d.) someone working at a booth;Slow shutter
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle; High shutter
f.) the Diamonds performance; Slow shutter

2. Aperture priority: when you set the lens to aperture while the camera sets itself to the shutter speed.
Shutter priority: when you set it to the shutter speed and the camera sets itself to aperture.
Manual: where you set the camera on both shutter speed and aperture.

Aperture, shutter Speed, ISO

Aperture

F2.8
F16
1. The pupil of our eye closely relates aperture.
2. The smaller the Aperture f-number the larger aperture opening.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? The size aperture impacts depth of field, if a larger f- number with means a smaller aperture so it will would have a focus background and if a small f-number will make the background blurry and the object sharp.

Funny Captions

Angry baby alert don't mess with her . Melanie was angry that her dad didn't give her, her toy. this is why you have give melanie her toy so she won't get angry.

What Thats not how you park. Bobby was in a rush and he couldn't find a parking spot so he parked in the bushes. There should always been parking spaces or this would happen.

Its a blue dog. Lily want it to put her dog in a halloween contest so she colored her like cotton candy and took her to get a haircut. This why you should have contest like that cause people go and do crazy stuff to there dog like Lily did.

Academic shoot reflection

1.  It was challenging just getting the rules cause some where hard to look for and hard to take picture of.
2. Holding the camera to take pictures good i did was just tried to take it even and pretty and like holding it like in one angle.
3. I would actually take pictures of a lot of things cause i really didn't took a lot of picture but yea i would take a lot of just random pictures too some could work i mean you never know.
4. I would focus and taking the picture in one angle its easier.
5. For me the third rule is easiest to take so i would do that one.
6. I would say lines would be hard well not that hard its just hard to find like lines to focus something.
7. I think it would be simplicity that I'm not total clear on what i can do is read the definition a little bit clearly or just try to take picture of like something similar to simplicity.

mural project

1. A theme would be like what kind of activities we like to do and take pictures of that or are favorite brands of cloths and shoes and stuff like that.
2. yes we should do that cause yea theres people that don't have camera phones and how are they going to take pictures.
3. In the front of the school.

2. This was my favorite picture

3. This photo it show this big elephant putting his trunk in the water he is drinking water and i picked this photo because its just a really good picture how he took it and i think the elephant looks really pretty thats why i picked this photo.
4. The rule of this photo is simplicity and balance because it shows just one thing and its focus in just the elephant.
 a. He uses a Pentax 6711 with only two fixed lenses.
 b. Brandt fell in love with the animals and land of East Africa.
 c. Is showing the animals simply in the state of being. In the state of being before they are no longer are. Before, in the wild at least, they cease to exist.
d." A shadow falls, taken in its entirely, is a love story without a happily ever after".

Academic shoot pictures

Simplicity
I follow the rule good.
Its simplicity because i focused on one thing
Yes its clear for people to know what the subject is.
The rule of thirds
I really didn't do a good job following this cause theres like people in the way but it would of been better if i just focus on the teacher and cut the kids.
i really don't know if i would be clear for people to see the subject on this one.
lines
i didn't do a bad job in this one but i could of done better i mean it does attract my eyes on top thats what the stairs come in as lines but i should of took a better picture but this is a good one.
Yes it would be clear for people to see the subject.

balance
I followed this rule really god i captured it good.
Its balance because its doesn't have a lot of weight in one side everything is right were it should be its pretty and its well balanced.
Yes they would see the subject clearly on this picture

framing
I did good following this rule.
Its framing because the tree is framing the girls that are sitting in the picnic table and its just framing them.
Yes the would see the subject clearly

avoiding mergers
i did an okay job with this one i was taking a picture of that girl and guy and i cut that girl accidentally and it was a merger and thats what avoiding mergers is to cut something or somebody.
I really don't know if they would see but if i explain it then it would probably be clear.

Academic Shoot

The story
This girl and the girl behind her are picking up trash. The story is that there cleaning the campus its cleaning campus day and there good students and there cleaning.
Action and Emotion
The emotion as you can see is happiness they are happy students and the teacher is happy too it looks like there having a good time.

Filling the Frame
This frame is filled with kids that are doing an experiment and the whole class is included they look like there enjoy the experiment and learning things.

Next Step :

I picked this picture because i can relate to the subject of the photo it says junior year and I'm a junior and he's in a library and his sitting down on the floor with books its like me the picture is saying that junior year is the most important year you have to be on top of things you have to study a lot you have more homework you have to pass this year and that photo explains junior year.

One of the rules that are in this photo are the Lines.

1. i would take pictures like the ones that i saw in like a science room or like a classroom that has a lot of activity.
2. Like a class that they do activities, in a science class or like dance class.
3.I would take pictures of everything so i can choose the better ones and tried to take the pictures right.

The Rule of Thirds
this is an example of The rule of thirds because its on the side.

Lines
This is an example of Lines because it shows lines and patterns.

Balance
This is an example of balance because you can cut it in half.

Framing
This shows framing cause the big truck its like making a frame for the building.

Avoiding Mergers
this is an example of avoiding mergers because its like cutting the person.
