magazine cover 2
Early magazine
in the mid-1700s as the cover many dedicate the opening page to a title and table of contents, but this one the cover is The Town and Country Magazine
The poster cover
"Carmel" 20st century
This is an example of a kind of contemporary poster cover found on magazines directed to highly upscale reader.
Picture Married to type
"Cosmopolitan" 1980s and 1990s
the cosmopolitan magazines seem boxed in by the wight of the words that intrude upon her space so its just saying that she's surrounded by a lot of titles and cover lines and all that she just seems squished.
In the forest of words
"music" 1998
it shows what a magazine designer must do to combine a face close up with the a lot of cover lines required by most magazines today.

my favorite cover
PEOPLE, Sept. 12, 2011: "The Children of 9/11"
(Photograph by Nigel Parry)
(Photograph by Nigel Parry)
As the nation stopped to remember the tragedy of 9/11, People marked the 10th anniversary with a more hopeful note. For the fourth time,People told the stories of ten children and their moms, who were pregnant when their husbands died on 9/11; ten years on, there was still sadness but also joy, both grief and triumph over tragedy. The families gathered at a Manhattan studio—poignantly on Father's Day—for portraits taken by Nigel Parry. The cover image, of 9-year-old Lauren McIntyre holding a pendant with her father's photo, simply, and powerfully, capture the children's legacy of love.
I liked this cover because it says a lot just by looking at the photo i think it was the best cover of 2012. This photo meant something to a lot of people it was just so sad what happen that day and we will never forget that day. That picture is just so sad she's holding a pendant with her fathers photo it really captures the impact of her fathers lost. Its a good cover i liked it a lot and i think a lot of people like this cover too. They took this photo good too the lighting is really good not to much exposure its a nice picture.

1. Emotionally irresistible (that’s the image’s appeal)2. Worth the investment of money and time (that’s the “What’s in it for me?3. Instead, ask the designer to print out all the alternates as hard copy, trim them accurately to magazine size and glue them onto old issues, so you can see them as close to the real thing as possible. Now, toss them on a tabletop, so they flop around and overlap like real magazines do.
